About you and the role

As a Research Manager you’ll deliver actionable insight for our clients. You’ll work collaboratively as part of multiple project teams. You’ll proactively build our client relationships and develop new business opportunities from new and existing clients.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’ll do:

  • Manage large-scale consultancy and research projects from start to finish, acting as main client contact, coordinating tasks within project team, and actively monitoring delivery on time and budget
  • Lead research projects – guiding the direction of the project and leading the project team to meet client needs and maximise value to client and company
  • Design and review qualitative and quantitative research tools that meet client objectives and MRS guidelines, and effectively moderate qualitative research discussions
  • Lead the insight process to produce thorough analysis of qualitative and quantitative data delivering actionable insight and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, before, during and after projects to generate repeat business and build long-term value
  • Scope research projects and write proposals to win them
  • Identify client needs from diagnosis conversations / briefs and scope responses
  • Support marketing strategy by writing case studies or research articles
  • Train and mentor less experienced team members
  • Keep up to date with trends and innovations in research methods
  • Identify and develop new research approaches or process improvements

Your skills

You’ll be the right person for this job if:

  • You are able to analyse qualitative and quantitative data, identifying the salient issues and have experience of conducting primary qualitative research using a range of methods
  • You are experienced in leading or managing research projects
  • You’re passionate about solving problems, no matter if they’re big or small; and have a strong mindset of getting things done
  • You have great communication skills (verbal and written), and are able to explain and present complex issues in an accessible way to various audiences
  • You actively identify opportunities, deliver improvements, and proactively implement and follow project management methodologies and processes
  • You are great at managing expectations, ensuring delivery of the highest quality service, and soliciting and acting on client feedback
  • Experience of working in an agency environment is desirable but not essential

We are especially interested in hiring an Arabic or Swedish speaker, but this is not essential.

Applicants should note that, since Morris Hargreaves McIntyre serves a large number of national and international clients, you may be required to undertake work in other U.K locations and overseas (including for clients in US, Gulf States, Europe and elsewhere).

The Particulars

Salary: £32,000 – 35,000 per annum dependent on experience

Working Hours: 35 hours a week worked in line with our flexible working policy

Annual Leave: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Location: Manchester Northern quarter, we are currently hybrid working with at least 2 days in the office.
