Sam Allonby

Sam joined MHM as a Research Assistant in August 2023 as part of the UK/EU Culture team. Before joining MHM, Sam completed his BSc in Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of Manchester. His dissertation which investigated the effect of emotional music on facial recognition memory allowed him to incorporate his passion for music into the study of human cognition and behaviour. He continued his studies on a subcellular level during a 10-month spell in a laboratory near the Swabian Alps, researching drug treatments for schizophrenia. This allowed him to further develop his analytical mindset and creative thinking.

Outside of work, Sam enjoys playing football, vintage clothes shopping and most of all, immersing himself in Manchester’s top-class live music scene.
